Julie Wells
North Canterbury / Christchurch
Julie is a non-medical, holistic, full-spectrum end of life care professional supporting individuals with life-limiting illness, people in critical care and those at end of life, and their families. Complementing all medical care services, Julie offers a person-centred approach that includes physical, emotional, spiritual, social needs, working to ensure the dying person's wishes and preferences are honoured and respected.
A doula understands dying, having been there many times with others. Recognising the signs and symptoms of a dying person can provide reassurance, and a sense of preparedness, allowing you to better support them and their loved ones and facilitate a more peaceful transition.Â
For those who wish to be in familiar surroundings with loved ones, closer to all that is important to them, and have more autonomy over their end of life, home-based death care offers a more holistic and natural approach that can bring greater sense of peace and security.
